摘要

“文理渗透”是清华大学长期形成的文化传统与办学风格的鲜明标签,更在当今高等教育领域中崭露头角,成为一股不可忽视的潮流。这一理念是全球人才培养领域的重要发展趋势,也是时代赋予的不可回避的迫切要求。清华大学自建校来一直推向“文理渗透”,为此倾注了大量心血并收获了丰硕的成果。新雅书院作为清华在这一领域的新锐探索与尝试,不断在教育模式上推陈出新,为“文理渗透”的深入推进注入了新的活力,成为清华乃至整个高等教育界的一大亮点。本文运用质性研究方法,对7位新雅书院的不同管理岗位和学术委员会教师,以及跨越2017至2023届的21位新雅学生进行了深度访谈。并辅以相关文献资料与政策文件的综合分析,深入剖析新雅书院在“文理渗透”实践中的具体路径与成效。研究发现,新雅书院在通识教育、住宿制书院以及交叉学科三条路径上协同发力,共同推进“文理渗透”。其中,通识教育涵盖了核心课程和分布必修两种通识课程设计,巧妙融合了理性主义、本质主义与折中主义三种教育哲学;住宿制书院路径上,新雅书院尤为注重教育的过程性,其通过外在层面的住宿社区与第二课堂的建设,以及内在层面“文理渗透”理念的浸润与内隐性熏陶,致力于育人以“完整”的教育目标;在前两者的基础上,新雅书院还在交叉学科路径上进一步发力,设置了独具特色的政治、哲学与经济学(PPE)以及智能工程与创意设计(CDIE)两个本科专业,从专业设置层面加速“文理渗透”的进程,进而形成了新雅书院独具特色的“文理渗透”育人模式。新雅书院基于上述路径的实践,在“文理渗透”方面取得了一定成效。于其中,高质精品通识课程、和谐生生交往,以及交叉学科的学习都起到了积极的正向作用。然而,新雅书院也面临着一些挑战与问题,因而其在“文理渗透”方面尚未达到理想状态,仍有进一步优化发展的空间。本研究期望能为新雅书院在“文理渗透”方面的持续深化的探索与实践提供优化方向,同时为我国乃至全球高等教育的人才培养提供有益的借鉴与启示,共同推动教育领域的创新与发展。

“Arts and Science Integration”is a distinctive label that has emerged from Tsinghua University's profound historical heritage and educational style, which also stands out in the field of higher education today, becoming an indispensable trend. This concept is not only an important developmental trend in the global field of talent cultivation but also an inescapable imperative assigned by the times. Since its establishment, Tsinghua University has been promoting "Arts and Science Integration", investing significant effort and achieving fruitful results. As a cutting-edge exploration and attempt in this area, Xinya College of Tsinghua continuously introduces innovative educational models, injecting new vitality into the advancement of "Arts and Science Integration" and becoming a highlight in Tsinghua and the broader higher education community. This paper employs qualitative research methods to conduct in-depth interviews with seven teachers from different management positions and academic committees at Xinya College, as well as 21 students from the classes of 2017 to 2023. It also integrates a comprehensive analysis of relevant literature and policy documents to delve into the specific pathways and effectiveness of "Arts and Science Integration"in practice at Xinya College. The study finds that Xinya College synergistically promotes“Arts and Science Integration”through three pathways: general education, residential college system, and interdisciplinary studies. General education encompasses two types of general courses—core curriculum and distribution requirements—ingeniously blending rationalism, essentialism and eclecticism in educational philosophy. In the residential college pathway, Xinya College places particular emphasis on the process of education, committing to nurturing students with a "holistic"educational goal through the construction of residential communities and second classrooms on the external level, and the internal infiltration and subtle influence of the "Arts and Science Integration"philosophy. Building on these foundations, Xinya College further exerts efforts in interdisciplinary studies, establishing unique undergraduate majors in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) and Creative Design and Intelligent Engineer-ing (CDIE), accelerating the process of "Arts and Science Integration"at the level of professional settings and thus forming a distinctive "Arts and Science Integration"educational model unique to Xinya College. Based on the above pathways, Xinya College has achieved certain results in "Arts and Science Integration", with high-quality general education courses, harmonious student interactions, and interdisciplinary learning all playing a positive role. However, Xinya College also faces some challenges and issues, preventing it from reaching an ideal state in "Arts and Science Integration"and leaving room for further optimization and development. This study hopes to provide a clear direction for the continuous deepening exploration and practice of "Arts and Science Integration" at Xinya College, while also offering valuable insights and inspiration for talent cultivation in higher education in China and globally, jointly promoting innovation and development in the field of education.
