The Double Reduction Policy in China has recently garnered significant attention due to its transformative effects on the nation‘s education system. The policy aims to reduce both academic burden and extracurricular tutoring, ultimately fostering a more balanced, equitable, and less competitive environment for students. This portfolio employs a qualitative methodology, and utilizes three feature news stories to investigate the myriad consequences of the policy on stakeholders. The first feature news story provides an in-depth introduction to the Double Reduction Policy, offering context and background information to elucidate the rationale behind the policy‘s implementation. This overview will explore the measures taken by the Chinese government to reduce academic workload and restrict private tutoring, as well as the expected outcomes of these measures. The second feature news story delves into the multifaceted implications of the policy through interviews with three experts in the field of education. These interviews provide a detailed analysis of the policy‘s effects on organizations involved in the education system. The experts offer their insights and opinions on how the policy has impacted education in China, and the challenges and opportunities that arise as a result of this policy.Lastly, the third feature news story presents a comparative analysis of China‘s education system with that of South Korea. This comparison will highlight the similarities and differences between the two nations‘ education policies, as well as the lessons that can be learned from their respective experiences in addressing student stress and fostering holistic learning environments.By employing a narrative-driven approach through three feature news stories, this research project aims to provide a comprehensive and accessible understanding of the Double Reduction Policy in China and its multifarious consequences on students, families, and organizations, as well as valuable insights into the broader context of educational reform in East Asia.
