With the deepening of digital connection and the gradual penetration of social media, " Permanently online, Permanently connected " has become the new norm of digital life. However, the benign connection between technology and individuals has been facing a sustained crisis: the burden of excessive connection, the generalization and shallowness of social relationships, and the increasingly blurred boundaries between private and public domains, all of which point to the increasingly common phenomenon of "social media fatigue".Based on the SSO model, this study constructed a research framework with Technology Stressor, Information Stressor , and Social Stressor as Stressor, Social Media Fatigue as Strain, and social media disconnection behavior as the Outcomes, aiming to better explore the stressor basis, subsequent behaviors, and mechanism logic of social media fatigue. Among them, Technology Stressor mainly includes Ubiquitous Connectivity and Immersion, Information Stressor includes Information Overload and Low Quality Information, and Social Stressor includes Online Vigilance and Impression Management Anxiety. Social media disconnection behavior includes four different dimensions: Information Avoidance, Short Breaks, Control Activity, Suspend Intention. In addition, online social support is introduced as a moderating variable. This study followed the classic research process of "determining research questions-designing questionnaires-pretesting questionnaires-adjusting questionnaires-implementing surveys-analyzing data". After collecting 338 valid samples through questionnaire surveys, quantitative analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0 data analysis software, including descriptive statistical analysis, reliability and validity analysis, structural equation model analysis, and moderation effect testing. The study found that, in terms of pressure sources, Ubiquitous Connectivity at the level of technology pressure, Overload and Low Quality Information at the level of Information Stressor, and Online Vigilance and Impression Management Anxiety at the level of Social Stressor were all verified to have significant positive correlations with social media fatigue. Secondly, in terms of results, the positive relationship between social media fatigue and Information Avoidance, Short Breaks, Control Activity in social media disconnection was verified, while the positive relationship with Suspend Intention of use was not accepted. This indicates that individuals still have a "difficult to part with" relationship with social media. In terms of moderation effects, online social support plays a reverse moderating role between social media fatigue and Information Avoidance, Short Breaks, Control Activity. This study combined literature to discuss and interpret the research results, and proposed that social media fatigue is squeezed by triple pressures: Technology Stressor reflects the technical alienation of a media society, Information Stressor highlights the devaluation of information in the digital age, and Social Stressor reflects the "digital crowding" of a networked society. At the same time, the connection and rupture between social media fatigue and disconnection behavior reflect the "if attached, yet detached" state of digital abstinence in digital life.It is hoped that this study can enhance the digital well-being of social media users and explore a new path for harmonious coexistence between humans and technology.
