勤俭节约、反对浪费是社会主义的本质要求，也是中华民族的传统美德。新中国成立以来，中国共产党对浪费问题高度警惕，在经济、政治、文化、社会、生态五大领域提出了厉行节约、反对浪费的理论，回顾并总结中国共产党领导新中国初期反浪费运动的做法和经验，有利于全面从严管党治党，营造勤俭节约的社会风气。自从中国共产党成立以来，开展了多次反浪费运动，其中规模最大的数新中国初期的反浪费运动。新中国初期面临着严峻的经济形势、节约是社会主义国家积累资金的方式之一以及克服旧社会遗留的浪费风气、学习苏联社会主义建设经验等诸多因素促使中国共产党在全国范围内开展一场轰轰烈烈的反浪费运动。为了让反浪费运动全面取得胜利，中国共产党展现出高超的领导艺术，坚持马克思主义的人民立场，依靠人民力量，动员广大人民参与到反浪费运动中。坚持革命原则的前提下，根据客观形势的变化，整合多方面力量，呼吁民主党派、妇联、工商联参与到反浪费运动中，形成最广泛的统一战线。中国共产党领导人做好表率作用，率先垂范，发扬艰苦奋斗的作风，亲自投身于反浪费运动中。采取多样且灵活的斗争形式，把反浪费同整党治党、强化宣传工作和反官僚主义相结合，四者相互促进、良性互动。新中国初期的反浪费运动有效遏制了浪费之风，减少了铺张浪费，丰富了党组织建设，密切了党群关系、干群关系，巩固了新生政权，提高了中国共产党在群众中的威望。新中国初期的反浪费运动为新时代开展反浪费工作提供了经验借鉴，我们应该时刻对浪费问题保持警惕，把反浪费当作一项政治任务去执行；形成反浪费的规章制度、行为规范和协调关系；成立反浪费的临时性机构，针对某一特定任务，形成特定的议事协调机构；通过会议民主决策议事的方式强化执政党的群众动员能力。新中国初期的反浪费运动对新时代抵制消费主义思潮，坚定马克思主义节约思想具有重要作用。反浪费是建设资源节约型、环境友好型社会的必然要求，也是建设美丽中国的必然要求，从更高层次上看，反浪费本质上是反对人的异化，突显社会主义社会的本质要求，彰显中国特色社会主义的应有之义，实现人的自由而全面的发展的一种途径。
