In the 21st century, technology and its development are permeating every aspect of people's life comprehensively. In some key areas of technology, technological breakthroughs are having an increasingly important impact on people's lives and even on human itself. Along with these developments, technology is constantly redefining the profound meanings of the "self" and other related concepts, prompting a deep reflection on the self, the essential nature of the human beings as a person, the status of moral subjectivity, values, identity and their implications, and the changes that have occurred as a result. Therefore, the important question of "who am I", a traditional philosophy issue about human self-awareness, has been given a new meaning in the present technological age. The exploration of this issue must incorporate the important dimension of "technology", thus contributing to the growth of academic interest and the emergence of a new interdisciplinary research field. This interdisciplinary field of study is known as the "Technoself Study", which has emerged in recent years. As one of the core concepts in the field of technoself study, the concept of "technoself" integrates the concepts that reflect the relationship between human and technology/machine which have already occurred in the past social trend of thought. Its emphasis is on what kinds of changes have taken place in the current state of human being and in the relationship between the human being and technology, that occurred as a result of the adoption of technologies such as Internet technology and human enhancement technology. It also focuses on rethinking and discussion of how human beings recognize themselves and how to treat the relationship between technology and themselves caused by these changes. This paper focuses on the most important topic in the study of technoself, namely, personal identity. From two dimensions of time and technology, this paper re-examines, analyzes and refines the explanation of psychological continuity theory, narrative identity theory and bodily continuity theory of personal identity, as well as the discourse on the relationship between human and technology which put forward by Bernard Stigler and some other philosophers of technology, and pointing out that there are epistemological risks in the existing theories, which cannot well explain the emergence of the online personal identity, "avatar" and other new problems caused by Internet technologies, nor can it respond to the challenges presented by human enhancement technology to the body which as a mandatory guarantee of personal identity. The interpretation and understanding of personal identity should shift from a passive, internal and bodily introspection to a positive, active, and practical creation. On this basis, this paper attempts to construct a practical interpretive framework about the personal identity of technoself, and takes this as a starting point to respond to the new problems about the personal identity that have emerged as a result of the widespread use of Internet technologies and human enhancement technologies.
