中国传统面相术是一种中国传统的面部识别技艺,主要通过观看人的面部特征来推测其命运发展趋势。对我们现代人来说,中国传统面相术是一个光怪陆离的复杂体,是一种难以参透的神秘文化。为了揭开中国传统面相术与我们现代人之间的神秘面纱,本文试从信息可视化角度对其进行信息挖掘和信息梳理,借以信息可视化手段向更多的现代人展示中国传统面相术的独特魅力。通过对中国传统面相术发展脉络、研究现状、思维观念等多方面的分析发现,解析形象思维是破解中国传统面相术神秘性特征的关键——它作为中国传统面相术的主要构思方式,是一种借以直观形象判断问题的思维方式。因其偏重经验分析,注重感性认知,使得中国传统面相术整个理论体系构建过程充满了创造性和想象力。形象思维使得面相术知识点庞大而丰富,本文选择其中最易与我们现代人发生信息互动的知识点——五行面相——作为本课题信息可视化设计实践的切入点。五行面相作为一种分类方法,可将庞杂的面相术知识点迅速归类至条理化、清晰化;五行中对形象、色彩的理论分析为信息可视化设计提供了可能性;五行中“相生相克”关系对应现代社会中的社会人际关系,密切贴合了用户对信息的兴趣点。在基于中国传统面相术的信息可视化设计实践当中,笔者运用形象思维的构思方式将五行面相知识点以一种物理交互界面的形式呈现出来,设计出一个名为“五行面相转盘”的信息可视化作品。这是一个既适合现代人参与体验,又不失传统看相乐趣的交互作品。作品的设计意义是让用户亲身经历一次看相的乐趣,从而加深对中国传统面相术的了解。本文最后就笔者的设计实践经验,提出了基于中国传统面相术的信息可视化视觉设计的原则、方法等。
Traditional Chinese physiognomy refers to the traditional face reading technique in China, which is mainly about predicting the tendency of people’s fates by viewing their facial features. For most modern people, traditional Chinese physiognomy is a strange and unusual complex and an elusive mysterious culture. To bridge the gap between traditional Chinese physiognomy and modern people, this thesis carried out information mining and arrangement for this ancient technique from the perspective of information visualization and used methods of information visualization to present the unique charm of traditional Chinese physiognomy to more modern people. Through analyzing traditional Chinese physiognomy from various aspects, such as its history, research status, and concepts, the author found that the key to unveil the mysterious characteristics of traditional Chinese physiognomy is to analyze imaginal thinking, which is the major conceptive mode of traditional Chinese physiognomy and drives people to make judgments based on visual patterns. Because this mode of thinking emphasizes empirical analysis and perceptual cognition, the entire process of establishing the theoretical system of traditional Chinese physiognomy is full of creativity and imagination. Due to the involvement of imaginal thinking, the physiognomy possesses numerous and rich knowledge systems. For this reason, this thesis only chose one knowledge system, The Five Elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth) physiognomy, which can incur most information interactions with modern people, as the entry point of information visualization practice in this study. In this information visualization design, which is based on traditional Chinese physiognomy, the author presented the knowledge system of The Five Elements physiognomy in the form of a physical interactive interface by using the conceptive mode of imaginal thinking, and designed an information visualization work named “The Five Elements Physiognomy Wheel”. At the end, the author, based on the above design practice and experience, proposed some principles and methods of visual design for traditional Chinese physiognomy based information visualization.
