前门大街是北京新形成的一个及其重要的城市空间。论文选择这一空间作为研究对象，力图通过对该典型案例的深入调研和剖析，提取其特殊的功能要求和设计形式。研究立足人在场所中的功能需求和直观体验，从功能和形式这两个方面来简略评价其得失。论文主要对前门大街的历史和过往研究做了一个概述，以空间模式研究的角度来探讨功能的实现，对街道立面和街道小品等进行形态分析，最后总结和提升论文的整个思想。前门大街是在特殊地点的一个特殊空间，各种矛盾突出的在此展现。本论文期望以前门大街为一个案例，来为设计类似空间的实践提供启发。

The Qianmen Street in Beijing is an newly developed urban space with great importance. The thesis targets the space and tries to extract its functional requirements and forms of design through intensive site survey and analysis. The study focuses on both the physical need and aesthetic experience of the location and evaluates the space from these two aspects. The thesis includes a comprehensive overview of the history and past studies of the site, a study of function with respect to different special patterns, an analysis of the design forms of the its elevation and street facilities and an overall conclusion to the thesis. The Qianmen Street is a street at a special location with special significance which projects much conflict. The thesis targets Qianmen Street as a case study to inspire for the design of other similar spaces.
